Routing doesn't work with a VPN client with static addressed ip address

An user account has been assigned in the Dian-In tab a static ip address
10.123.91.100/23 in the same range as for DHCP assigned VPN clients
10.123.91.[20-40]/23.
If try to ping the default gateway 10.123.90.1 this works when the ip
address has been assigned dynamicly but when it has been assigned a fix ip
address the response on the ping fails. The Echo packet leaves the ISA
Server.
Anyone has an idea? Is this not supported?
