It wouldn't lock up too, but the CPU utilization would go up to 100% and never 
came down, no matter how much time you left it running. 

For something like two months, I left a task to run on midnight (time that 
DAILYSUM.EXE starts running to parse logs, right?) in order to kill 
DAILYSUM.EXE shortly after it started running. If I didn't do this, the next 
day nobody could browse the web, connect VPN, browse our site, send mail... 

Back to the Stone age =)

Well, that was the final reason for buying a brand new UPS and a new IBM server 
for my ISA server.

Yeeehaw!

I used to have terrible problems with DAILYSUM, but almost all of them were 
related to corrupted log files from back power supplies, not UPS connected to 
the server, or dying hard disks. The utilization would go to 100%, but I don't 
think the box ever completely locked up.

I Used to have a similar problem, but it was with a process named DAILYSUM.EXE. 
Either you could kill it or apply SP1. Sometimes it would hang, but not every 
night.

Hi Sachin,

I've never seen the ISA Server hang the computer, even when the REPGEN
process is running amok. Could you have a hardware problem, maybe a
power supply or disk problem?

Hi,

We have experienced something quite strange recently.

ISA server will be running fine and allof a sudden out of the blue, it
will hang. No traffic will pass through it and we can see from the ADSL
routers no traffic is being transmitted.

We cannot even turn on the monitor. It is really strange and there are
no
error messages in the event viewer.

We have to manually turn off the server at the power button and restart.

Any ideas?
