OH, don't get me started on the general Xerox techs that know nothing about security and insist that the ripit server must use no passwords and have everyone full permission on everything. BTW, do you know of a way to export the settings from a D42? There is a place in import, but I can not find an export. Every time a tech comes out he wipes out the settings. Do you use the web interface? It is a lot easier and you can set up users. John Tolmachoff MCSE, CSSA IT Manager, Network Engineer RelianceSoft, Inc. We have Xerox DocuCentres that do e-mailing but we don't let them e-mail directly out of the organization - our people e-mail the scanned docs to themselves, review them for completeness and accuracy (and appropriateness) and then e-mail from there to the recipient. It's a minor pain to have that extra step but we believe it reduces the chances of misrouting important scanned documents. The Xerox interface isn't great (limitations of the little screen) and it wouldn't be that hard for somebody tapping on that little touch screen to accidentally send a message to moe@xxxxxxxxxxx instead of joe@xxxxxxxxxxxx Aloha, -Ben- Ben M.
