Just a couple points of interest .. NLB requires Advanced Server, the best practice is to have NLB run with Multiple Network interfaces, one for the NLB address and the other answering the unique static IP address for the server itself. The NLB address shared across X number of servers will answer requests and primary IP address is used to respond, I have played aroound with NLB and found that it works just fine if configured using at least 2 interface cards rather than assign additional IP address to a single NIC. -----Original Message----- From: Marc Baker [mailto:marc_baker@xxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, September 18, 2003 2:41 PM To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] RE: NLB for ISA http://www.ISAserver.org I currently have a single point of failure with just one ISA system that is only publishing web sites, I tried Rain Wall and had great success, but I need to compare it against something else. 1. Is NLB easy to setup for failover with ISA 2. Would it be better to use a windows 2003 server than windows 2000 server? If I try NLB. ------------------------------------------------------ List Archives: http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=isalist ISA Server Newsletter: http://www.isaserver.org/pages/newsletter.asp ISA Server FAQ: http://www.isaserver.org/pages/larticle.asp?type=FAQ ------------------------------------------------------ Other Internet Software Marketing Sites: Leading Network Software Directory: http://www.serverfiles.com No.1 Exchange Server Resource Site: http://www.msexchange.org Windows Security Resource Site: http://www.windowsecurity.com/ Network Security Library: http://www.secinf.net/ Windows 2000/NT Fax Solutions: http://www.ntfaxfaq.com ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this ISAserver.org Discussion List as: gmaks@xxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub')
