Microsoft has released new Mac OS 8/9 and Mac OS X UAM clients with NTLMv2
support. No more lowering of the security bar to support Mac clients.
They are available for download at:

I haven't personally tried these (no MAC handy), but there are many who've
wanted integrated auth for MACs and this just may do the trick.
