Hi William,
If I may add my 2c to the topic. I'd also say that the likes and
dislikes of AV software tend to depend strongly on personal experience.
I know a couple of people in the business that behave exactly that way,
including me :) 

Just as a sidenote, I always use McAfee and I have to disagree on the
statements made about their product. 

Anyway what it comes down to is that AV software needs to be properly
configured and monitored by someone who knows what he's doing (in
respect to the software that is). I guess there's no such thing like a
click-and-forget software, they all have their weak points. 

Btw. I set the update interval to 12h on my servers to make sure any
virus making it into the environment well be caught in close time.
