Depends on your install mode.Caching will eat gigs of HD space
exponentially.MS's recommendations are so weak on caching = 100mg + .5mg for
each user?!?! I'd go with a dedicated HD array on Caching over 100 users.IDE
strip would do.
256mg memory is recomended min.?What server product boots with less??!!?! I
would'nt start with less than 512mg .
I assume your recycling some pc133 machines.MS says 300mhz....please!!! =
lag/timeout slow! 500mhz would be my min. I'm on 950/1000mhz slot A's = P3
killers! w/768/1024mg . They are'nt lightning boxs but they were end tables
before.
Plenty of decomed dual Dells around if you have 500+
users, but then you'll probably need 64 bit NIC's for those worthless
Motherboards, if you have spares. They make good target backstops when they
die,as in be careful about buying junk. Better off with an array of cheap ISA
boxs w/ cheap 10/100- 32 bit server cards than one dying turd.

  50 Client

  300
  400
