U still remember what u read in your first network book in school : "tannenbaum" :-) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------- _____ From: Troy Radtke [mailto:TRadtke@xxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, October 12, 2004 2:21 PM To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] RE: HOW bandwidth works in ISA http://www.ISAserver.org Just remember that iBandwidth and eBandwidth do not have to be equal... =?) You may be running token ring on the inside and just a vampire tap with coax on the other with bnc connecters.... YMMV... AND NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE BANDWIDTH OF A CAR LOADED WITH BACKUP TAPES!!!!!! Let's see: If you can fit say 200 LTO2 (200/400gb) tapes in my car, at an average of 300gb per tape, and move then to the other side of town (15miles) in 20 minutes.... 200*300/1200=50gb per second... dang good for a model year 2000... =?) Now, factor in the fact that I've probably got to get the tapes there for a reason in a hurry and I take the highway: 200*300/600=100gb per second... Tell them dang university I-net2 people that they've gotta play catch up with my car!!!! -----Original Message----- From: Aman Bedi [mailto:gurkirpal.bedi@xxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, October 12, 2004 1:04 PM To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] RE: HOW bandwidth works in ISA http://www.ISAserver.org Sometime ...u guys are just mean .... :-) _____ From: Troy Radtke [mailto:TRadtke@xxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, October 12, 2004 1:46 PM To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] RE: HOW bandwidth works in ISA http://www.ISAserver.org (bandwidth)------------->ISA bandwidth stops here^ then you write a rule or 2 and a few des. sets and then you get: (bandwidth)----------->ISA-------(bandwidth)----->YourServer or YourServer----(bandwidth)------->ISA-------(bandwidth)-----> =?)
