Hi Ray, Adding RAM is the single best thing you can do if you're using Web caching. Seems to make a lot of difference if you want to maximize your Web caching scheme. Thanks! That's my box! Except I only run 256MB. Am I going to see any significant performance difference with the extra RAM? I have plenty of PC-100 laying around. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Thomas W Shinder" <tshinder@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: "[ISAserver.org Discussion List]" <isalist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, October 23, 2003 7:33 AM Subject: [isalist] Re: Guess the specs http://www.ISAserver.org Ha! OK guys. The specs are: PIII-450 768 MB RAM IDE -- UDMA 33 4 years old (got it in 1999 to test Windows 2000 [NT 5.0] betas) White box -- built is myself from the mobo up. It's a nice testament to ISA's stability and performance. It pumps from 50-75 GB/month and never goes down unless I take it down. So, looks like Ray wins! Two social credits for you. I think you can cash them in at the EU Central Bank ;-) Thanks! tom Thomas W Shinder www.isaserver.org/shinder ISA Server and Beyond: http://tinyurl.com/1jq1 Configuring ISA Server: http://tinyurl.com/1llp -----Original Message----- From: cismic [mailto:cismic@xxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, October 23, 2003 1:01 AM To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] Re: Guess the specs http://www.ISAserver.org So, is this an open invitation to see if we can get past your system? <grin> Joseph -----Original Message----- From: Jim Harrison [mailto:jim@xxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Wednesday, October 22, 2003 7:51 PM To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] Re: Guess the specs http://www.ISAserver.org 5MHz Z-80, ZCPR, 64K RAM, 10MB SASI HD 10-base-5 network both sides... ..BTW, do you think the Lord of the Rings special effects were created in a Tolkein Ring topology? <ba-dum> Jim Harrison MCP(NT4, W2K), A+, Network+, PCG http://www.microsoft.com/isaserver http://isaserver.org/Jim_Harrison http://isatools.org Read the help, books and articles! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Thomas W Shinder" <tshinder@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: "[ISAserver.org Discussion List]" <isalist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, October 22, 2003 12:59 Subject: [isalist] Guess the specs http://www.ISAserver.org Check this out: No Site Unique Users Requests % of Total Requests Bytes In % of Total Bytes In Bytes Out % of Total Bytes Out Total Bytes % of Total Bytes 1 www.tacteam.net 2636 70399 98.1 % 10.3 GB 99.9 % 21.9 MB 98.2 % 10.3 GB 99.9 % 2 www.shinder.net 72 835 1.2 % 9.0 MB 0.1 % 234.5 KB 1.0 % 9.2 MB 0.1 % 3 www.seagoville.net 23 237 0.3 % 3.6 MB 0.0 % 78.1 KB 0.3 % 3.7 MB 0.0 % 4 www.sceneofthecybercrime.com 23 162 0.2 % 1.5 MB 0.0 % 46.3 KB 0.2 % 1.6 MB 0.0 % 5 192.168.16.33 1 122 0.2 % 69.7 KB 0.0 % 54.4 KB 0.2 % 124.1 KB 0.0 % 6 www.security-texas.net 5 8 0.0 % 0.0 B 0.0 % 2.1 KB 0.0 % 2.1 KB 0.0 % 7 www.tfcsgroup.com 1 1 0.0 % 0.0 B 0.0 % 288.0 B 0.0 % 288.0 B 0.0 % 8 64.99.69.43 1 1 0.0 % 0.0 B 0.0 % 59.0 B 0.0 % 59.0 B 0.0 % Total 2720 71765 100.0 % 10.3 GB 100.0 % 22.3 MB 100.0 % 10.3 GB 100.0 % OK, here is a piece of yesterday's report.
