Hi Folks

Funny story time.

Last night I received a request. He had no incoming or outgoing mail, no
internet access, so, I thought, look at exchange first.

He'd been at it for weeks and couldn't sort it, so I had him set up a
vpn and remoted in.

To cut a long story short, the numpty, (Scottish for prat, bloody good
word I think), had created a connector to the same Exchange server, LOL,
(good loop), so I deleted that, and restarted the server.

Once back up, still no mail moving from the queues, so I thought, time
to look at the ISA install.

LOL, both the Exchange Server and the ISA server were set up by someone
who frequents this list, and also answers the odd question or two on
both this list and the Exchange list.

There were no protocol rules, no packet filters, no publishing rules of
any sort, although he did have an ssl cert installed for his OWA, but
there was one Site and content rule, allowing only him personal access
through ISA.

Quite funny I thought.

Steve
