http://www.ISAserver.org Hi Steve, Pretty interesting stuff! So my standard advice for DHCP related problem for cable modems will now enclude enabling a ICMP Ping Query filter the DHCP server addresses used by the ISP. Thanks! I just might have the answer. http://www.ISAserver.org Hi folks, Just learn't something that may or may not apply to a lot of you who can't renew dhcp leases on your cable modems or dsl routers. I was speaking to a techie I met here in Bermuda today, and found out he used to work in the cable modem support group for NTL in the UK. I don't remember why it came up but the fact that some people (NTL), can have problems with their lease renewal through isa stemmed from the dhcp server not getting a ping reply from the modem. Apparently a lot of ISP's servers don't renew the leases if they don't get a ping response. So if you allow ping responses it may solve the problem. Must be worth a try for all you people out there that can't renew.
