1. No, Exchange server is not handling mail from the Internet (using Smart Host for sending) 2. Currently no relay is allowed through Exchange server (but I can set it to relay from machines on the subnet) I implemented the logic of setting Exchange server as the Master and configure all other SMTP servers to relay through Exchange but had the following problem: 1. If a user neither uses Microsoft SMTP service on his machine nor the Exchange Server to send mail but instead uses an external SMTP server (say mail.yahoo.com) then how do I track that mail? What do I do now? Does it limit who can relay through it? If all you want to do is limit outgoing SMTP to a single server, then create a Client Address Set, add the "master" Exchange server's IP to it and limit the SMTP protocol rule to that Client Address Set. Now you configure the remaining SMTP servers to relay through the "master" and you get the tracking you want. Otherwise is there any way that I can achieve my goal of allowing only Exchange server to send mails out of ISA (and redirecting mails from other SMTP servers to the exchange server for further transport). Reason being I want to restrict only Exchange server to be able to send mails (for tracking purposes). I also don't want to configure other SMTP servers individually to relay to exchange server. Just wanted to know if someone has made such/similar application filter using ISA SDK.
