I have a client who wants the same (and SQL Svr 2k on same box!)... too
small of an office to justify multiple servers... so we're just
implementing it... just have to make sure client understands (1) later
support or troubleshooting may be more expensive (interaction of
services makes it harder to isolate problems), and (2) ISA won't make
the network as secure as when running on separate box (many ports will
be open from other services, DC, etc. and ISA can't close them). One
thing to note is that ISA's secure publishing of Exchange DOES NOT work
for MAPI clients (like Outlook) connecting from outside the office when
ISA & Exchange are running on same box.

Leonard,

The Small Business Server 2000 suite does just what you state. It has
Active Directory, Exchange 2000, ISA Server, SQL 2000 and more all
designed to run on one box. I agree that separating all these components
would be the best way for security and management, but doing so
increases the cost substantially.
You may want to ask your client his reasons for wanting to do this. Then
you can advise him what the risks are. You don't want to say it "Cant be
done", because it is possible, but there are inherent risks in doing so.

Hi, one of my clients has decided to load to above three services on one
server and I need some whitepaper etc just to show him why it cant be
done
apart from the obvious reasons.

Thanx
