vision I have let dogs run me into things deliberately to prepare them to
lead me around. It also keeps their mind occupied. The other day, I
deliberately walked into a crossing gate to teach a Bearded Collie pup to

Hello Everyone,
This is to brag a bit on my boy Harley D.
As I have mentioned in a previous email, I have suffered a vision loss
recently. My experience has bourne out the advice given to me when I was
matched with LD Sequoia. Work your dog as if you were a total cos you never
know when your vision will change. We took that to heart when Harley,
Storm, and Sky were undergoing training. We trained all of them to work for
totally blind owners. That philosophy has paid off, in SPADES!! Harley D
just keeps rocking along, laser precise and detail oriented. Honestly, his
stellar work has helped keep me sane.
There is a chance that the surgery that I had yesterday will help the
cornea stop thinning, and reverse the vision loss. Time will tell.
I am not trying to take potshots at our British members, but my
experience points out the silliness of GDBA reducing their training
standards and mainly training the dogs to work for partially sighted GDO's.
