David,Maybe not. it could just be Carmime's innate Labrador proclivity for
snow...I have yet to meet a Labrador that doesn't let their brains fall out
when snow comes.

Subject: [IOTAList] Carmine loves the snow
The temps have been between the high 20’s to mid 30’s, F of course. Because it
is humid around here, in half an hour the doors on a vehicle can be frozen
shut. Why does that make a difference? Yesterday we took the dogs on a
mountain run. The door where I load Carmine and Sheena was able to be opened
and closed before the run. But when we go back, I had to load Sheena through
the hatch and the other dogs, in the back in the kennel made for a huge dog.
30 inches high, 30 inches wide and 40 inches long. Yes it is collapsible. I
got Carmine, 2 bearded Collies and the King Charlse mix in there. Oh, yes, they
all get along although Carmine likes to be closer to me. Part of the reason
is, he does not being crated. On class we had to crate the dogs at night, he
did not like that. Personally, I prefer the dogs on tie down if necessary.
But, thems the rules so we have to follow them or, it could jeopardise us
getting a guide. For the record, Carmine went nuts on the trail because there
was snow and ice patches along with the smells that come when the weather gets
colder. Because we have snow in our backyard with another 2 feet possibly to
come, it is hard to get Carmine to come in out of it. He is like a little
child. Sheena being a Husky x, is just as frisky. Carmine’s puppy raiser must
have had him out in the snow a lot because he thinks nothing of staying out
there for 20 minutes or longer running, rolling in it and sniffing.
