9) Frequently Asked Questions about Technical Training:

Each month Scott Turton will answer one of the frequently asked
questions we receive about computer and technical training and
career development.

January 2002 FAQ:

What are some techniques to put use when studying for a
certification examination?

Answer:

Here are some things you should be doing when you study for your
cert exam:

- Check out all of your training and studying options that are
available.
- After taking a close look at the way you learn best, make a
decision on which method is best to study for the exam: online
courses, self-study, or instructor led courses.
- Look at the training that is recommended by the certification
authority.
- Research and find web sites from people who have earned
certification and see what they studied and how their
certification experience went.
- Most people cannot study for more that one certification exam
at a time, so it is not recommended.
- Make a goal of when you plan to take the certification exam
and try to keep it.
- Always schedule your time on a daily basis to study for your
upcoming certification test.
- If possible, find or form a study group with others who are
studying for the same (or even similar) certification.
- Take some of free practice questions and tests on the web to
discover where you are in your learning and studying.

I hope this helps you.
