Pranav.
Thanks for this one. Certainly we'll keep an eye on the GPS ground, although to
be honest I think Neil's message content is a bit over the top in terms of what
is "Factually" correct or otherwise.
It's always been my view that GPS products should be marketed responsibly,
because unlike other technologies an incorrect choice could very seriously
impact upon someones safety.
As ever when you get competetion this kind of thing always happens, and the
people who get most het up are usually the people who sell the products not
necessarily those who use them and can objectively provide factually based
comparisons.

Hi all,
In the light of the below message, we may want to do a follow up in the next
issue of Infotech.

Mike,

I should also point out that Mike's review whilst ignoring the point of it's
undoubtable bias also was written based on a Beta version of WFA v1.10, this
means that he's written this and published it for all to read on a product
that hadn't even been released to the public at the time and hadn't even had
it's first bug shake down.

I've pointed this out to Wayfinder as there are in fact some complete
inaccuracies, such as Mike states that if you loose GPRS coverage that you
loose your route in it's entirety, this is not the case, nor has it ever
been with WFA, nor to the point WFN.

This thus is liable in terms of the written word is factually incorrect.

I'm not surprised Mike's not updated his review as it might mean he might
have to in fact say something positive about WFA.

To be honest it's published documents like this which might serve to put off
potential clients of Wayfinder Access, and I'd really like to see Wayfinder
take a more proactive stance on getting factually incorrect reviews removed,
especially when they are in such direct exposure locations.

As long as you don't install any Facebook app, not sure if there is one, but
there is for Youtube and that don't work with Talks.

But, yes, if you use the mobile version of Facebook, it is fine.

It is scaled down a bit but, you can do most things like: Update your
status; read emails; read notifications; see pictures if you have some
sight; add friends etc.

I use it loads.

Hi Ibrahim

I understand what you mean, but my experience thus far with Vodafone is that
it costs pennies rather than pounds, and works ok with a non-contract phone
without add-ons.

Hi Jacky.

It depends on which network you are gunning for though. When I first
started using WayFinder Access, I was charged £5 per megabyte of data I
downloaded or uploaded. As a result of my previous network's inflexibility
therefore, I was forced to switch providers. The aim of my message was
simply to warn Eleanor that she should check costs and ensure that she
wasn't paying over the odds. The amount of data WayFinder uses is small,
but as I don't know what she intends using features wise, it would be
difficult to say how much the costs involved could be.

All the best, Ibrahim Gucukoglu
