LivingWithLess.net will be an innovating web portal presenting inventive ideas
on how to live a more sustainable and socially-connected life.e. The site will
be packed with perspective-changing tips, links, videos and smart suggestions
about how to save money and achieve sustainability in our personal lives while
building stronger and more connected local communities. The team behind this
web portal is the filmmakers of the award-winning documentary "Living Without
Money." (www.livingwithoutmoney.org)
Reuse, reduce, recycle, de-clutter, share, barter, grow your own, and heal
yourself are some of the key concepts on Living With Less.net. We're doing an
extensive research for you and will prepare all the information you need in one
well-edited and userfriendly webportal.
Living With Less.net offers visitors a fun and easy way to search for useful
tips on for example alternative holidays, free accommodation and low-cost
transport, and gives them access to experiences like learning to grow their own
food, generate their own energy and live more sustainable and enjoyable lives.

So far only the squares Travel "Work abroad" and "Smart Transport" are active,
but maybe you can get an idea of what this can be once we finish?
Why do we need your help?
We'd like for the Living With Less.net portal to be completely not-for profit –
with no annoying ads or pushy sponsors on the site. But this means we need help
from those who believe in our vision. Creating a website with an unconventional
design and content that requires extensive research costs more money that we
can pool together, but we can turn this into something big if every person who
likes it just pitches in a small donation. We like the idea of opening this up
to the greater global community!
What can you do to help?
If you can help back us with your dollars, Euros, kroner, pounds or Yen, we’ll
design, implement and keep the Living With Less.net site alive and kicking to
provide the world with a free, unique and life-changing web portal that is sure
to inspire the masses to make big, positive changes.

Why do we want to create this website?
We’ve seen first-hand the amazing and irreversible impact that living with less
has on people’s quality of life, relationships and overall perspective. Our
award-winning documentary ”Living Without Money” follows the brave journey of
Heidemarie Schwermer, a German woman who has lived without money for the past
15 years. The film has been extremely successful and viewed at over 300 events
and festivals across 30 countries, as well as on TV in Europe and Asia.
We know that many would love to make changes to the way they live, act, think
and consume, but might not have the information, encouragement or collective
support they need to modify their ways. Living With Less.net will serve as a
starting point for anyone interested in making fundamental life changes that
steer them toward greater consciousness, happiness and care for the things and
people that surround them.
How will my contribution be used?
It will be an invaluable drop in our $17.000 bucket, which we will stretch to
feed all the great humans who are powering this project!
Meet our team!
Our web designer is investing incredible effort in making the layout smart and
the website usable and easy to navigate.
Our researchers are combing thousands of websites for interesting and useful
stuff to read, check out and learn from.
Our coordinator is magically fitting together all the pieces. Bravo! In
addition he is constantly dreaming up new ideas.
Our content writer is pulling the text together and our copywriter is making it
shine.
Our graphic designer is creating eye-catching logos.
Our illustrator is drawing all the icons from scratch, with heart.
Our video editor is making fun virals to spread the word about this great
project.
Our PR person is getting the message out across all the borders.
What an effort!
Not to mention things like promoting, maintaining the site and keeping it
up-to-date and forever inspiring. Oh, and a little something to thank all the

When will the website be ready?
We plan to have Living With Less.net up and running by October 2012. We are
working round-the-clock to make it useful, inspiring and life-changing! We

Living With Less.net sarà il primo portale web dove trovare in un’ unica pagina
idee innovative su come vivere una vita all’insegna della sostenibilità, la
collaborazione e la responsabilità personale. Il sito presenterà consigli,
link, video e interessanti prospettive di progetti pratici e già esistenti a
livello mondiale per la prime volta non frammentati ma presentati in una
visione d’insieme (pertanto la lingua scelta è l’inglese). Il team dietro al
progetto è composto, in parte, dai filmaker del film documentario “Vivere senza
Soldi” (www.livingwithoutmoney.org)
Riutilizzo, recupero, condivisione, autoproduzione, medicine non convenzionali,
nuovi percorsi scolastici, orti urbani, viaggiare e dormire low cost, trasporti
intelligenti sono alcune delle aree tematiche presenti nel sito. Abbiamo speso
diversi mesi nella ricerca e lo sviluppo di un portale che fosse in grado di
raccogliere le eccellenze e presentarle in un modo immediato, facile da
navigare e soprattutto utile.

Perché abbiamo bisogno di te?
Ci piacerebbe mantenere il sito senza dover ricorrere a pubblicità e sponsor
privati. Se il progetto è no-profit, la libertà delle informazioni non ne
risentirà. Questo significa che abbiamo bisogno del sostegno di chi condivide
la nostra visione visto che un simile progetto sta richiedendo più soldi di
quanto noi siamo stati in grado di trovarne (fino ad ora solo da una fondazione
norvegese “Freedom of Expression) ma siamo convinti che la formula del “poco da
tanti” può essere sorprendente.
Come ci puoi aiutare?
Se pensi che il progetto sia di “utilità globale” puoi donare una somma che ti
senti (da 1 a 500 euro) che ci permetterà di implementare la grafica, la
costruzione e soprattutto il mantenimento del sito livingwithless.net che potrà
essere fonte di informazione e ispirazione speriamo per molte persone. Spargi

Perché vogliamo fare questo sito?
Durante la promozione del film documentario “Vivere senza Soldi” siamo entrati
in contatto con centinaia di comunità e associazioni sparse per il mondo e
abbiamo potuto constatare quanto una revisione dei propri consumi, delle
proprie abitudini e dei propri schemi mentali possa fare la differenza. A noi e
probabilmente a qualcuno di voi capita spesso di voler cambiare qualcosa di sé
ma la mancanza di informazioni, ispirazioni e confronti, a volte, non ci da il
coraggio necessario per cominciare un piccolo passo verso il cambiamento.
Come viene usata la mia donazione?
Ricordiamoci che è sempre una goccia quella che fa traboccare un vaso!! Una tua
piccola donazione nel vaso dei 17.000 dollari che speriamo di raccogliere va a
pagare una parte del lavoro del team che sta rendendo questo progetto possibile.
Dario, web master, sta investendo molto tempo per “scrivere” il programma del
sito e renderlo facile da navigare. Silvia, Line, Andrea, i ricercatori, hanno
girato tra centinaia di siti per raccogliere le esperienze più significative e
utili come modelli di ispirazione. Paolo, il coordinatore, sta facendo del suo
meglio per non perdere neanche un pezzo del puzzle ed è in continua ricerca di
nuove soluzioni. Line, che scrive i testi e Sonia, la copywriter, cercano di
far risplendere le parole da usare. Fabrizio e Dario, i grafici, cercano di
creare loghi e immagini che possano rendere il sito accattivante ed immediato.
Diego e il team di Fotogramma 25, hanno montato tutti i video e i virali che
aiutano il progetto a girare per il web in tutto il mondo. Un grande ed
entusiasmante sforzo!! …. Per non parlare poi della promozione e del
mantenimento del sito nei prossimi mesi…. Insomma meno soli siamo e meglio
riusciremo a far girare queste nuove idee.
Quando sarà pronto il sito?
Pensiamo di riuscire a presentare la versione definitiva off-line in settembre
a Venezia durante la conferenza sulla Decrescita e di lanciarlo pubblicamente a
ottobre 2012.
