A lot of different virtualisation options exist depending on what you
want to do; start with the simple chroot all the way to full
emulation of an x86 on a powerpc or vice versa!
Here are some words to look out for in order to get you started:
vserver, chroot, xen, qemu, parallels, colinux,
user-mode-linux, schroot, openvz, jail, vmware
Probably others can add some more.
