I second that. It is awesome and has a very good API. I personally used
org-mode earlier. But I switched from emacs to vi, thanks to the awesomeness
of tpope and his rails vim plugins. I can now fly with rails in vim. If you
are using emacs anyway, org-mode is definitely the way to go. It gives you
what you asked for an much more.
