hello Mr. Thyagarajan
the entire script is posted on the pastebin.com. the syntax error displays as
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_ELSE in
/var/www/gd_image_limit_1.php on line 37
but on this particular line, I don't find anything other than just "else"
statement.
with thanks
<sigh> ...
Mr Mahalingam,
Before expecting people to help you on mailing list such as these, please learn
to follow the customs and use your tools properly. Here are the things that I
see wrong with your posts:
a. You pasted the code in your original post, but you corrected that (good !).
However, although you mentioned that you have pasted the code at pastebin.com
you did not provide the link to the pasted code (bad !!). The basic usage of
pastebin is very simple:
http://pastebin.com/pastebin.php?help=1
Please take a minute off your busy schedule to read it.
b. You (or rather your mail client) does not quote the message you are replying
to (an example of quoting is the ">" that precedes the lines from your message
above). If you mail client is not smart enough to quote messages that you are
replying to, please use a better mail client. If you are not smart enough to
instinctively understand why this is important please read:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Posting_style#Quoted_text_markers
c. Please trim the unnecessary lines from the message that you are replying to.
Only keep the lines relevant to the topic you are addressing. For instance,
I've
snipped both Mr. Thyagarajan response as well as the 'footer' in your response
from this reply.
These are all small things, but unless these conventions are followed people
are
will not be too keen to help you. Think about it this way -- Looking at your
message, most people capable of helping you would thing -- if you can't seem to
understand and follow the most basic of netiquette there is little hope that
you
would understand and follow any other advice that may be offered.
cheers,
- steve
