Hi,
As Mr Sivanandhan has said, VESA is a generic driver.
Without proper driver, you will get display but not
the hardware acceleration required for playing games and
playing video...
I had the same problem with Via Unichrome Graphics Card on FC3.
As far as I know VESA is the name of the driver and not the name
of a graphics card..
So use google and use keywords like this(I have used the name of my card
change it to ur card's name)
"Via Unichrome Linux Sarge problem"
"Via Unichrome Linux Debian problem"
"Via Unichrome Debian problem"
If ur card is supported under SARGE you will mostly get links to
drivers for ur card and patches..
Try playing some videos from live CDs like Knoppix or Mandrake Move..
If they play properly, then ur card is supported under Linux and
You just have to google for the right drivers.
