The above laptop is loaded with dual OS having Win XP/ RHEL Server Edition
5.2 with kernel 2.6.18.92.el5 x86_64 GNU/LINUX which is
RHEL Server release 5.2 (Tikanga)
The issue is that the network connectivity of both Wired and Wireless are
functioning perfectly for Win XP without any issue whilst the same is not
well with Linux .
The available NIC drivers for RHEL are as follows
Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme BCM5755M Gigabit Ethernet PCI Express
Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx Gigabit controller
Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945 XBG Network Connection
could yo upaste the output of "lspci" command here? I might be able to
help you if I know which cards you have exactly.
As per I understand, you need to load the kernel modules for both wired
and wireless network cards, which have not been loaded already. You could
do so using modprobe and ndiswrapper for wireless card.
If you have intel pro wireless 3945, its supported with ndiswrapper, which
is listed on this page
http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/joomla/index.php?/component/option,com_openwiki/Itemid,33/id,list_g-l/
here is the wiki for ndiswrapper + wireless card module installation
http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/joomla/index.php?/component/option,com_openwiki/Itemid,33/id,installation/
Once you get the modules loaded correctly, you should have your hardware
working with RHEL.
Thanks
Gourav
