Dear All,
I use evolution 2.28.1 - in Ubuntu 9.10. ?I used the 'backup settings' and
took a backup of all company mail on 19th Feb 2010, and it came in a tar.gz
file, and I saved it seperately.
I reinstalled Ubuntu and tried the 'restore setting' - but it says 'show a
valid file for restoring' - many times even tried with rebooting several
times.
I am guessing that you went through a fresh install. You should be
keeping all your user data in a separate partition and mount /home on
it; to avoid losing your user data.
I have done the same many times in the past - and always had a clean
restore.
Sounds like a bug in Evolution - if you have done this before successfully.
Anyway, you can always unpack the tar file to the location
$HOME/.evolution. This used to be the Evolution folder 4-5 years ago
when I used it.
