If u use 10/100Mbps ethernet in a network connected to
a hub then the speed is limited by the hub.
Hubs are basically broadcasting device if u hv 8
port hub and ur other ports are all connected to your
hub and host the broadcasting speed is splitted to 1/8
th of the Basic speed .
If u use switch instead of Hub u can achieve direct
transfer through put of 100Mbps -- u may face some
overheads even on that.
functioning of switch is different from hub.
