[Ilugc] help need regarding ecllipse

i want to install ecllicpse on my system for php
development.
This is a wise choice. I have used it for PHP development and I
find it pretty good.
but before that i want to know what is this
exactly..?
Its just an IDE which provides all the project management features plus
plugin features which enables it to be used for different types of project
i.e Java, PHP, Python. Ofcourse you need j2sdk for running
eclipse.
i tried a google search and got some information,
but still i am not clear with this tool..
and also let me know the url for downloading.
i am using red hat 9.

But beware some plugins might not work well with latest stable release.
I am still
using version 3.0 M7.
