any distro that isnt bleeding edge will do really
using debian unstable, or ubuntu is bad (though with debian you might want to
see whether its worth running outdated packages when apache's added a lot of
good new stuff thats really usable in newer versions)
if he wants a rh variant, rh 7.3 + patches or better still rhel with a
purchased license
