[Ilugc] ethernet RTL8139D is not detected in Redhat 8...

hi all,
I am using redhat 8 with kernel version 2.4.x.
i have a pbm connecting  to internet,as my ethernet RTL8139D adapter is not
getting detected.
RTL8139C is available and displayed on executing redhat-config-network.
what should i do to make my ethernet card detected?
