But I am not interested to provide the those link. I would like to share my
experience with you. Its may be fit, if you are in my same level.
Before 3 years back, i was planing to create a public portal for learning
purpose. But I was zero in web languages. Even now also. Then I come to knew
about the CMS and posted the same query in few forums. I got many answers
like Joomla is best, Mambo is best, Drupal is best and finally it stopped in
flame war. So I got confused. Then I decided to learn both. First I started
with Drupal. No idea about it, Drupal was not much impressed by me, in terms
of available plugins, handling contents,.etc.
Then I started Joomla (At that time, Joomla splited from Mambo. Note: One
more confusion!). With Joomla I was much comfortabel with its components and
modules. It was very easy to handle the contents, templates, plugins,.etc.
Till now I am using Joomla. I am not facing any difficulties in designing a
Joomla based site. I dont bother it has written by php, python,.etc.
However, I also faced few difficulties when I changed my joomla based site
from one hosting to another. Finally I failed to retrive my old content and
then designed every thing one again. I feel, taking a backup and retrive it
in another hosting is difficult in joomla or I am not aware of the tricks.
But no idea about other CMSs.
the CMS is like a sweet. It has many varieties with different tastes like
Laddu, Jaankri,.etc. One like Laddu; another like some other sweet. Like
that we have no of CMS with different features/varieties. Its upto you and
your requirement. Based on your requirement select a cms.
My final few words are, why you should not try all the tastes?. I mean learn
both and then decide the best one for you. Whats wrong with it. Do not much
consider about other's review and confuse.
