No! Debian wont. In this case, Lets say foo depends on bar >=2.0. And
what you have on your box is bar-2.0. Debian wont upgrade bar. It will
download only foo. _but_ if foo depends on some version which is not
on your box, debian will download it. I dont see any difference
between gentoo and debian as such. Our discussion was about why debian
sucks when it comes to network usage. and I dont think debian sucks :)
(thats probably a biased view, though ;) )
