Hi,
After some struggle I have convinced people here that
version control systems is essential and will help a
lot in maintaining source code.
When I mentioned "subversion" as the option, they want
to use cvs as they feel it is well proven, is much of
standards like stuffs etc.,
The problem is like this. Right now, there is a server
(hp-ux)and around 10 developers are working on their codes
currently in different directories. The problem is there
is only one account/username shared by all the users and we
cannot get individual account in the server for each and
every person. I heard something like cvs will identify
the commits based on the login name. If that is the case,
in the above scenario there will be problem.
Is there any way to share the same account and still
maintain code efficiently by different developers without
any problem.
I have started reading documentation and started to lay
my hands on cvs on unix.
Since I have only worked on wincvs(by blindly checking in
and check out wihtout knowing what is happening internally),
that too 3 years ago, I dont know much.
Any suggestion from the experts are most welcome.
