[Ilugc] converting jpg to txt in linux

Is there any way to convert jpg to txt fotmat.
i tried to convert jpg to pdf using open office and converted dpf to text
using pdftotxt command. i can be able to convert jpg to pdf but pdf to txt is
not possible. pls help me in this regard.
Try gocr (jocr.sourceforge.net). It should directly be able to convert
jpg to text, or at least, from jpg to some other format and then use
gocr on that image. Then, you can put the text back into Openoffice.org.
