[Ilugc] commands are not working

night, no command is working there in gnome. Today morning, when i
tried to enter graphically, i couldn`t do that, shows...
"gnome-session will close in 10 seconds... blah..blah ..blah"
I can login as root remotely, but no command is working there... as
for example: ls, yum,su or so on.
The symptoms suggest that your machine has been cracked open.
Now, i cannot remove that fedora anymore, cause, we have a lot of
important data in root ( / ) partition.
Did you install the entire system on one partition? Where does your
important data reside on the file system tree e.g. /var/lib/mysql?
What can i do now? Please help me. Here, i am adding a little bit
part of my commands:
At a min. take the machine off line, boot with a Live/Rescue CD and copy
your important data to another location. You can use the BackTrack
LiveCD. It has a lot of security tools that might throw some light on
what happened.
In future, use an enterprise grade distro and plan your partition size
i.e. tell the distro installer what partitions to use for the various
sub trees of the file system.
To avoid further oops/trial and error I suggest you seek experienced
professional help.
