[Ilugc] alsa problem

hi,
I installed debian sarge on my system. But I am not able to configure
sound card. When I run alsaconf it's not selecting my sound card. How
I can configure my soundcard.
When I run #lspci it shows this as sound card device
Multimedia audio controller: Slicon Integrated System [SiS] sound
controller (rev 0f)
I had faced a similar problem on my Sarge(2.6.8) some time back.I have
a hda-intel soundcard and it was not supported out of the box.I
downloaded the drivers and other required tools(libs/utils etc) from
the
http://www.alsa-project.org/ site.I built the driver for my card
against the kernel source and it was up and running.
I would suggest you to check the list of supported soundcard's at the
alsa site and the corresponding driver required.If the driver
exists,insert it,else follow the same procedure as mentioned
above.Googling will also provide a lot of info.
