I just tried explaining to my two cousin sisters, all
working as lecturers..
All of no use :(
Open source needs strategic mindset.. women generally lack
that strategic
sense.. this is my humble opinion..

Dear Raja Ji,
Kenneth Ji has already written about top posting, so I would get directly to
the point you are trying to raise here. I would beg to differ on your opinion,
we cannot associate open source with anything peculiar or particular like
'strategic mindset'. Its a way of life...the choices some of us have made..And
I strongly oppose generalizing on basis of gender or 'whatever'. It's just that
its a male dominated society where in we believe that we are superior, which is
quite quite incorrect. There are many woman active in FOSS domain, for your
kind information recently GNOME Foundation appointed their first Executive
Director, and you must be surprised to learn that she is a woman -- and her
name is Stormy Peters -- you can read her interview also at

I remember once the famous science fiction writer A C Clarke was asked did he
believe in God he said: "I don't know if *she* exist!"
May be the god is a girl...
