A friend of mine uses BSNL EVDO and connects to Internet in Ubuntu
through
wvdial.
The cost is Rs.800/- with more than 512Kbps(1Mbps I guess! ) speed and
he
is satisfied with  the quality. 

I am happy with BSNL 3G - only problem is in some III tier cities where
3G is not available, I have not been able to configure the 2G option in
fedora - but I hear it works in some other distros.
