Geeks may all use it in desktop, but adoption in various sectors is
already very high. It is difficult to see the extent of adoption as
market statistics is not related to adoption.

Google for example uses *buntu in its desktops.

Desktops like kde, gnome and others have been very usable since 2000+ or so.
Users have not been required to use CLI tools to run them.

Anyway the discussion was about machinations of a saboteur.
