and he needs to enable it,it seems !
and there is no Ubuntu 5.1 version , as the Ubuntu team 'll release 2
versions per year ,that is at the mid of April (like 5.04) and October (like
5.10) .. .Guess I'm right

5.10 is ancient. It was release 4.5 years back.
Also, how do I find if the default sound system is ALSA or PULSE in my
computer? Is there some kind of a tool to collect data in Ubuntu like
the 'Belarc Advisor' for Windows?
Pulseaudio didn't exist when Ubuntu 5.10 was released so you cannot
have pulseaudio. And pulseaudio isn't hardware, it's a software.
