[Ilugc] UNABLE TO INSTALL LINUX

the problem is that if i want to install linux my system is getting booted
up but halfway after the process ie at the time of partition its giving me a
message as NO HARD DRIVE FOUND...
i dont know why it happens.. but a live cd is workin very well..

is there any problem with SATA drive....
You need to provide more information:
Which distro did you try?
There are some issues with SATA drives with old distros, but the
latest ones must support them. And some BIOSes provide a way to
disable SATA and make them look like PATA(IDE). If you have such a
BIOS, enable PATA emulation and retry the installation. If you are
successful in installing the system like this, you may later try and
enable SATA. Sometimes the kernels used in the installers are older
than the ones in the distros that they install.
