Well, Airtel does have an ethernet modem (not router) for the SAME rent 
as the USB Modem (Rs. 99/-). The guys at sales  usually do not talk 
about it but if you insist, they do give you one. (It's a Yozan Web 
Distributor).

I've used it at home and it works quite well..

Best of both worlds, perhaps?
