Dear LUGs,
1. How can rename the partition? for example /home as /padhu
You should not - violates Linux Filesystem Hierharchy.
2. Why most of the Linux/Unix give out for the size of partitions in
Block size or cylindrical size instead of GB or MB?
Which specific utility? If you are referring to fdisk then that is the
nature of the tool - to slice the hard disk into partitions. You have
to give start/end points for each partition. Most other utilities have
options to report in GB/MB. Pls. read man pages.
3. chmod +s /user/k3b
Here 'S' denotes what?
It denotes SETUID, if set it gives the same "rights" as the owner of the
file to any user who uses that utility.
Please clear my doubts.
Welcome to Linux sysadmin. I suggest you get familiar with the basics
of sysadmin. There is plenty of stuff on the 'Net but you could start

Sorry if my questions irritates anybody.
