Yes, I meant testdisk and not testdrive. Thanks for pointing it out.
I have used it to recover partition tables with success but in those
cases the FS on the partitions had been untouched
In this case, it does not look good. It was able to recognize that
there was an ext4 partition and restored the partition /dev/sdc1 with
an ext3 signature.
However, it would not mount "Unknown fstype, bad Superblock"
Tried to fix the FS
fsck.ext4 /dev/sdc1 showed a lot of errors. I did not have much
option but to answer 'y' to all the questions. There were 33 files
in lost+found and pretty much useless.
