Hello Friends!
I am very happy about the linux certification conversations.
Because i too planned to take any Linux certification.
There may be a good training center in chennai.. But i just wish
to say my suggestion....
Reading ourself is good but linux administration is not like
any programming language. Because in case of programming languages
reading some basic concepts and some depth books are enough
to get proficient.
But in case of linux admin you must gather wider knowledge.
and you must know all the basic concepts.Then only you can understand the
problems.( pls dont take it as degrading ur interest ,linux admin is really
very interest to learn).
You can learn everything yourself but it take some more time...
And... starting itself dont prepare specifically for redhat
distributions (GUI)...
just prepare for linux in command line.
If you learn to handle the configuration files directly (from
command line),surely you can work with any distributions (slightly
differ but it doesnt matter) and also
you can easily work with any GUI tools.
Actually i have trained by Mr.Chandrashekar babu...
He is above nine years experienced linuxian . He is taking LAMP
course, Linux Admin , Python ,Perl ,Device Driver, ....Everything
related to linux.
Not only linux , i have get real time problem situations and
wide knowledge from him.
He is taking everything in command line ( GUI also) . so you can
easily adopt with any distributions.....
Now i need any certifications for HR persons... ;-) so i am looking
for certifications..
