The openssh-server package is not installed in this linux, i searched in net
but no gain. the package was not budled in Mandriva DVD too. can you kindly
tell me , where shuld i get the package or where shuld i download it ?

Do you have openssh-server package installed ?
#rpm -q openssh-server
There you go.... /etc/init.d/sshd comes with the openssh-server package.
So, you need to install it to have ssh service.
