Greetings!
I would like to thank the team of "Tuxedo 2005", Sri
Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering, Mysore,
Karnataka for the opportunity and hospitality offered
during the two-day workshop held November 12-13, 2005.
Thanks to Joy, Chairman, IEEE-SJCE Student Branch for
working with me for the past one month (answering all
my queries :), and the student volunteers for taking
good care of us, and doing the needful during the
occasion. Special thanks to Dr. C. R. Venugopal
(IITB), who has taken so much initiative, and
continues to motivate SJCE students into FLOSS. Thanks
to Aanjhan, Ramanraj and Bharathi for their talks and
company. We had a good time :)
Thanks are also due to Anand Babu and Anand Avati of ZResearch, and
Infosys and others who sponsored the event :))

Shakthi, thanks! They look good. Too bad you could not make it with us
to KRS - the impressions from there are still floating around me. KRS
project, called Cauvery Upper Reservoir, was conceived and planned by
Visveswaraiya, between 1910 & 1911, and finished construction in 1932
during the reign of Krishna Raja Wodeyar IV, a before-computer era.
Mettur Dam was also planned by Visveswaraiya and is of the
pre-independence era. Intelligent planning is a sine qua non for
effective utilisation of precious water, and this project is worthy of
emulation. No, I do not mean we buid more dams, but to certainly do
things so that water may be conserved and saved in tanks and reservoirs
in appropriate ways that suit our terrain.
SJCE, has Dr. C. R. Venugopal (CRV), Coordinator IIPC,
Staff Advisor, IEEE, who has guided students in the
past and continues to guide them with FLOSS...
It was indeed such a pleasure to meet such an enthusiastic Professor,
who received us so well, and was along with the students almost
throughout the event.
Bharathi began day one (Saturday) with a session on
"GNU/FSF". In the afternoon, Ramanraj spoke about
"CALPP and AI".
The slides I showed are available in pdf format at:

One more thing: Joy released "Interface" issue which is available online at:
