Dear friends,
As part of our initiative to spread the light of knowledge,
Bharathi and I have come up with a two day workshop on
C and perl programming. First day will be all perl and
second day will be all C.
This is going to be less stressful than the TCP/IP seminar
since there is not much to memorize and learn. Only the
experience of programming and solving problems.
There are certain important idioms to be learnt in coding that
comes only by a very long programming experience. We will try
to generally get together, have fun and learn.
The idea of this workshop is fund raising. As always this is also
totally free of any financial gain. But at the same time you will
be required to pay Rs.1000/- for the two day workshop. In case
you miss the first day, you have to pay Rs.1000/- for the second
day alone.
We wish to express heartfelt thanks to our previous sponsors Prof. Ashok
Jhunjhunwala of TENET fame and also Sundarraman of Exeter Premedia
Pvt Ltd.
We expect fresh sponsors for this event. We are looking at a seating
capacity of close to 150. If individual computers are made available
it will be great but this is not a must. People can also bring their
laptops to ease the load of the sponsors.
The idea is to funnel the funds collected in this event with the
existing funds from the TCP/IP seminar and utilize this money for
augmenting the hardware resources of LUG. Depending on the money
collected we can come up with a proper way to utilize them.

It looks quite clear that this event will be on a weekend in October.
