Hello,
cook book is good only if you have specific questions. It may not
be good idea to start from it.
The cookbook is an excellent resource, it provides into other ways of doing
tasks.
Learning perl is good for starters.
"Learning Pelr" by Randal L. Schwartz is definitely te place for starters
(which is Camel book? Learning perl or programming perl? )
