[Ilugc] Outbound mails

check if sendmail is enabled in your services. this symptom is consistent
with sendmail not being enabled in services. the version of sendmail in
rhl8 uses two processes for mail, one for incoming mail and a second queue
runner for delivering outgoing mail. if sendmail is not enabled as a
service, outgoing mail will not show up in the mailq (since it is saved
elsewhere and not in the usual lmqueue directory) and mailq will show
empty. however, as soon as you start the sendmail service
(/etc/rc.d/init.d/sendmail start), mail will be delivered (and those that
are deferred will show up in lmqueue/mailq). i dont know if this is how it
is supposed to work, but it seems to work this way.
