I downloaded the latest Openoffice 2.0 from Openoffice.org site. Following the
insturctions, I copied the file into
/usr/local folder of my Mandriva LE and got extracted all the *.rpm files. As
there were dependency error while trying to install those files using rpm
package manager, I installed them using command option --nodep. All the rpm
files got installed without any problem.
Even appropriate menus got added in the desktop for launhing Openoffice writer,
impress, draw, calc etc. But
when I launch the program both in KDE and Gnome it is not working. Hpourglass
is active for sometime and then stops.
I have installed OpenOffice.org 2.0 alongside the version of OpenOffice.org
1.1.4. However the old version Openoffice.Org 1.1.4 is perfectly working. What
could be the problem? The Java Runtime Error 1.5 for Linux which is required
is already installed. I find the Openoffice.org 2.0 directory under
/etc/opt/
Is it the right location where it is expected to install?
Hope somebody could help me to solve this problem.
Hi
I removed the Openoffice2.0 rpms and reinstalled them. Now it is working in
Mandriva LE . I don't know what was the for it not working earlier.
