There is a job opening with Hong Kong based Grid
Markets(www.gridmarkets.com). They want someone who can help build
their grid platform. The platform will be based on Linux and other
FOSS technologies.
Location: Hong Kong in short-term, but flexible long-term for the
right self-motivating candidate
Primary responsibilities:
-Aid in developing a sound architecture for the GridMarkets offering
-Develop, test and deploy scripts to integrate various software
components of the GridMarkets platform
-Administrate, improve (e.g. automate) and pro-actively troubleshoot
operations of the GridMarkets platform.
Requirements:
-Expertise in one or more of Perl, Python or Ruby scripting (C a bonus)
-Expert Linux command line knowledge (scripting, pipes, awk, sed, grep, etc.)
-Expert networking knowledge: TCP/IP, VLAN, Firewalls and HTTP to protocol level
-Experience in Linux system administration (Windows a bonus)
-Exposure to cloud-computing (P/SaaS) technologies - VMware/Xen,
EC2/Eucalyptus, Open Nebula, etc.
-Experience in distributed/parallel/grid-computing technologies
(BOINC, Condor, job schedulers, etc.) a bonus
-Ability to work autonomously and meticulously
-Willingness to learn and grow with the organisation
-Flexibility and drive
-Fluent in English.
